1. To order from Creation Engine and receive our special educational prices, you must be a current student, faculty member or staff member of an accredited and degree-granting U.S. academic institution (grade school, high school, college or university). Home-schooled students also qualify for discounts. We also accept school purchase orders.
2. Proof of Academic Status
Your order will not be shipped until a valid academic ID is received. However, you can place your order anytime, and we will place your order on hold until we receive your valid academic ID.
3. Acceptable Forms of Academic ID
One of the following: A copy of dated student ID card, dated faculty ID card, dated current class schedule, letter from school on school letterhead, recent faculty/staff pay stub, or school purchase order.
Home School Programs: Defined as a home-schooling program which provides K-12 education to a student or students and which is able to provide written proof that it either (i) belongs to a nationally-recognized home-schooling organization, or (ii) is expressly recognized by a local school district as an acceptable alternative to an accredited or state-recognized/approved educational institution.

What is the difference between the products offered on this website and the commercial versions of these products?
The main difference is that the educational version cannot be used for commercial purposes. These programs are functionally identical to the commercial versions. As a qualified educational customer, you are eligible to purchase software at academic discounts for your use.
Is this software a legal, licensed copy?
Yes. We are an authorized educational retailer for the products on our website. Once you register your software, you will be in full compliance with software copyright regulations.
Who is qualified to buy software from Creation Engine?
You need to be a registered student to receive educational pricing. After you graduate or are no longer registered as an active student, you will not qualify for educational pricing. However, qualified institutions and faculty/staff members are eligible to purchase software.
How do I receive my free upgrade?
If you purchased a product from Creation Engine that qualified for a free upgrade, contact the appropriate manufacturer directly. For Adobe products call 800.492.3623 to receive your free upgrade. If required, you may request a copy of your invoice.

Student question
"I'm very interested in buying the Education version of Adobe Creative Suite, but first I want to know if the software can be used to produce work for paying customers once I am working in the industry, or do I have to buy a different version of Creative Suite once I'm working in the industry?”
Answer
Good news! You can use Adobe Education software (any title!) to produce commercial/professional paid-for work when you leave school, or even while you are in school. In this regard, Adobe does not limit how student software is used. So students can use it to learn and to make money!
(Of course, students must agree to the terms of the End User Licensing Agreement — which appears during installation — just as every software customer must do.) |

Student question
“Is the Education version a scaled-down version? How is it different than the more expensive retail version I see being sold at other computer stores?”
Answer
The Education and retail versions are virtually identical — we do not modify the software itself. To differentiate the product offering between education and retail, we may remove some clip art, some fonts, or other non-application resources. So really, the only difference is price. Student customers can be assured that this as an opportunity to get the “full version” without paying the “full price”. |

“What happens after I graduate? If a new version comes out that I want to buy, do I have to buy the full new retail version or can I save money and just buy the retail upgrade?”
Answer
You are able to continue to use your Education version serial number when you leave school to upgrade to future commercially priced versions if you want to, rather than having to buy the next “full” version. So you save money now while you are a student, and also after you graduate! |

2. COD orders shipped via UPS cost $10.00 extra. If a COD order is returned to Creation Engine after an unsuccessful delivery attempt, you must prepay the order with a check, money order or credit card. COD through the US Mail is not available.
3. Creation Engine ships all international orders via UPS. International shipping rates vary.
4. Orders delivered within California are assessed sales tax (8.25% for deliveries within Santa Clara County, 7.25% for deliveries outside of Santa Clara County). Orders delivered outside California are not assessed any sales tax.
5. Next Day Shipping takes one business day except for Hawaii and Alaska which may take up to two business days. 
1. You will be notified if your order includes backordered items. Out-of-stock items will be shipped as soon as they are available. If you would like to check the status of your order, an email confirmation will be sent to you.
2. No additional shipping charges will be incurred on backordered items. Exceptions include shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, and International Orders.
3. Backorders on overnight shipments will be shipped to arrive within two business days.
1. Some products qualify for return/exchange within 30 days of receipt. To return or exchange qualifying products, you must call within 30 days of receiving the product for a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Number. Use our online forms to return your order or exchange your order, and an RMA Number will be emailed to you.
2. A restocking fee of 15% will be charged on all returned products. Repack the product in a secure shipping box, and ship the product back to us via DHL, UPS, FedEx, or US Mail. For your protection, we strongly recommend that you insure the package in case the shipment is damaged or lost in transit. We cannot process returns for items lost or damaged in transit. Creation Engine must receive the returned product within 15 days of the issuance of the RMA number.
3. Return authorization is subject to the following conditions:
•The product must be undamaged and unmarked, including all documentation (e.g., warranty and registration cards) and packaging
•The product cannot be registered with the manufacturer
•Creation Engine will not accept returns for Avid, Caligari, Line 6, Maxon, Nemetschek, Newtek, Quark, and SolidWorks products. Microsoft products cannot be returned if opened.
•ESD (electronic software download) versions of software are not returnable under any circumstance
•Creation Engine will not accept any return of products that the manufacturer of the products will not accept
•Creation Engine retains discretion to deny any damaged returned product
•Customer pays return shipping fees
•If the product is returned in acceptable condition, Creation Engine will refund the purchase price of the returned product, less a 15% restocking fee. Creation Engine cannot refund shipping and handling charges unless the return is a result of our error
•If there are any errors with your order, contact us within 30 days of receiving your order. We cannot accept returns on misshipments after 30 days
•Clearance items are non-returnable
International Customers may purchase some products offered by Creation Engine at academic prices.
