My name is Dan Swartz and I am a digital illustrator and concept artist.   For this cover I used Adobe Illustrator with my Wacom Intuos2 to block out all of the major shapes and forms and to tweak the composition from my original sketches.  I then exported the individual layers to Adobe Photoshop where I added textures, fixed values and did all of the lighting effects.
